Second Annual Albany Area Pre-Thanksgiving Vegan Thanksgiving Potluck!!

bp and I are at it again. We're already discussing how to combine proteins to make a vegan turducken (toftanean? temseifu?). Come on out to the capital region for a thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings -- but no death! (Unless your belly explodes from all the good eats)

Two weekends up for consideration are:
Saturday November 7 or Sunday November 8
OR
Saturday November 14 or Sunday November 15

So far on the PPK front we have one vote for Saturday November 7th, and two votes for "Anything as long as it's a Saturday."

Who's interested? What day? How many gallons of gravy should we make? :D

This discussion is also being held on our facebook group for those who are members.

I wish I lived closer so I could go....it always sounds like you guys have so much fun and all the delicious food you could eat.  Have fun!!

Yw!

Cali's gotta chime in on what she's making too, lest BP and I claim all the foods!

Crap, the bus ride there would cost $72. I feel like I should be able to get to an Albany potluck but I guess it's just not meant to be.

jeez, I don't even know what to make.  Is there a need for anything?

Aww. I was all excited that it was the Albany area, until I remembered that there is an Albany New York that happens to be on the opposite side of the country from me.

Haha you're probably the Albany I get when I don't specify "NY" in google.

Kate -- We have seiturkey, gravy, stuffing, cranberry sauce, pumpkin cheesecake, apple crisp, and sweet potato pie covered. I also think someone is bringing mashed potatoes. So... anything else.

I am bringing Green Bean casserole! woohooo

We seriously need tons of mashed potatoes and homemade rolls!  Kate make bread of some type!

Algae, if you can make it to Hartford to Kate's then with her to Danbury to my place then we can all go to Albany together!  Though that may be the long way around.  heh  But I do have guest rooms for Saturday if the drive home is too daunting.

Shit!  Cali you stole my idea! Curses.  I do love that casserole.  I'll be excited to try yours.

I will make bread though!  Sounds goooooooooood.  I'm not too seasoned of a bread maker but I can hold my own.

Well, since three people just backed out -- we now have no one making mashed potatoes, stuffing, or cranberry sauce.

I call stuffing and cranberry sauce!

Can I request no onions in the stuffing? They make me sick.

Ahhh, well you can, but I'm feeling the impending doom of illness right now...........

Shit, I'm not sure if I'm up for the trip any more.  I'll have to sleep on it.  I'll post back in the morning to let you guys know just in case so you can make other stuffing arrangements.

Stuffing is like my favorite thing to make!  This is bad news bears.

See how you feel Kate! And give me a call.  I am tentatively planning on leaving at noon tomorrow for Albany.

I will bring the green bean casserole though! And mashed potatoes!  Do you mind if there is garlic in the mash?

You can put whatever the heck you like in mashed potatoes cause I hate 'em
:D

Yeah I don't think I'm gonna make it.  I'm feeling shitty like I need to just sleep for a million hours.  Sorry :(  Hope it's a lovely time!

Awww Feel better soon Kate!

And just how do you hate mashed potatoes?!  My mind just boggles.  How many peoples are coming?  Should I make enough for 4 or 14 or 40? hehe
