Lunar New Year

how many of you, wherever you are, will be celebrating Chinese New Year? attending services at Temples (Vietnamese, Taiwanese, Chinese, other) next week?

better, how many of you will be enjoying those special veg*n delicacies - (traditional dinner) - that appear on our banquet tables only at this time of year? any favorite items? (yum)

We will be celebrating the Chinese New Year, but no services.  Is it next week?  Everything that I've found is planned for the last week in Jan.  I am looking forward to attending a celebration on the 31st with dragon dancers, and a children ribbon dance.

We have no traditional dinners, but would love to hear what others make so that we could try them!

moving through "Lantern Festival" and will have observances, both Temple (Buddhist) and things for enjoyment & celebration, most the day Sunday (New Yr's Eve), including a large dinner that evening, followed by a service, then again a service Monday (01/25) morning; the Dragon Dancers are always amongst my favorites but there are many displays to see ...

sounds like something that I would enjoy, but TX is abit far and I don't think that a almost 3 yr as patient as she is would be patient enough.

I do need to find a lantern making pattern.  L loves crafts and I think it would be fun to do together.

TX is abit far ...

uhm,..., only need to find the local Asian / Buddhist community; there's probably a Temple somewhere near you where there will be New Year's celebrations ...
