I just got this book, and it's oh-my yummy tempting-looking. If I don't gain 10 pounds "testing" recipes, it'll be a miracle. Nice gift idea for your baker relatives, veg*n or not. Lovely book, pretty pictures, entertaining presentation, sexy recipes!

Ok, I got the book for Xmas and it is amazing! I read it cover to cover first, then went out and over did it buying cupcake supplies, and then tried making the plain old chocolate cupcakes. They seriously taste like Hostess (a childhood fave of mine), but better! I sort of screwed up the frosting but I will try again. Problem is, I can't stop thinking about eating them!
I still haven't made the Fauxtess Cupcakes from VWAV!

I got it for Christmas as well--- ITS AN INCREDIBLE BOOK!! awesome presentation and gorgeous photos- the recipes come with disaster help, sites for vegan baking supplies, and dozens&dozens of variations on the basic recipes. I believe there is a basic cupcake that comes with an 'Elvis Version' just after the recipe-- it will blow your mind. :o
Are the photos on the site you provided the ones found in the cupcake cookbook? If so, I've got to have the recipe for the dessert with the oreos and oreo frosting!! My, how euphoric it looks! :o
I love this book. I can't imagine how I lived without it. My friends and family all love the recipes and can't believe they are vegan. One even said they liked my cupcakes better than 'regular' ones! ;D
her first book was pretty awesome, so Im sure this one will be great too

Oh yes, I love this cupcake cookbook! I just made the Peanut Butter Cupcakes a couple days ago--FANTASTIC! I made mine to look just like the picture in the book with a drizzle of Quick Melty Ganache and a sprinkle of chopped peanuts; they make a great presentation. I've also made the Golden Vanilla Cupcakes w/ Vegan Fluffy Buttercream Frosting, Your Basic Chocolate Cupcake w/ Chocolate Buttercream Frosting, Simple Vanilla and Agave Nectar Cupcakes w/ Thick Chocolate Fudgey Frostin', and Brooklyn vs Boston Cream Pie Cakes. Everything I've made has been delicious.
Oh my gosh, this is the greatest cookbook EVER! The gaining 10 pounds thing is no joke though... I think I really did gain 5-10 pounds in the 2 months after I got the book because of compulsive cupcake baking. It was so fun though! :D Luckily now I've calmed down a bit with the cupcake baking, but they are hands down the best cupcakes I have ever tasted! Everyone I fed them to agreed that they were amazing... No one would have known that they were vegan if I hadn't told, and when I did tell I always had people say things like "Wow, it's amazing what they're doing without dairy or eggs these days!" and "These are even better than regular cupcakes!" P.S. Stride4unity, the Oreo cupcake recipe is actually my favorite in the whole book so far.

It's funny, I keep hearing about this book (online AND offline). I'm not a big cupcake fan, but I'm starting to feel like I should invest in this!
