Gourmet Vegetarian Slow Cooker

Has anyone tried recipes from this book?  I just got it from the library and have tried a couple of things, but they haven't been fantastic.  I guess I was surprised that so few of the recipes are vegan-friendly - I'm a lacto-ovo, but I really want to add more vegan recipes to my repertoire.  

So far I've made the Risotto with Lentils, and the Spiced Basmati Breakfast Cereal - both could easily be made vegan.  The risotto was quite simple, so it wasn't surprising that it came out a bit bland.  The breakfast cereal was ok, but in the end what I liked best was the toppings of toasted coconut and chopped almonds.  Let's just say I'm not going to be cooking rice for breakfast every morning.   :)
