You are here

poor kitty :(

my sister is talking to me on IM right now. she was excited earlier because a kitten showed up at her door (they live near some woods so there's a lot of that)..

well, she already has a cat and they are NOT getting along at all. she wants to keep it but there's that and the fact that her BF isn't too keen on getting another cat--probably since the one they already have hates him

she put the kiten back outside and its been crying at her door for so long that its voice is hoarse. i keep telling her to bring it inside and put it in the bathroom with food and water until tomorrow when she can take it to a shelter, but i honestly have no experience with any of that and can't give her more advice

she said that when she gave the kitten food it ate so fast that its mouth was opening as far as it could and it was eating more before it had swallowed what was already in its mouth...  i keep trying to convince her to bring it in until she can take it tomorrow to a shelter but for some reason she keeps bringing up excuses...

Oh! Poor kitty! I hope she lets it back into the house!  :'(

I met one of those poor kitties 19 years ago.  Harold Catarina Blue is now 19 1/2 years old and I couldn't imagine life without her.

My sister was visiting and told me to put her back outside.  I did.  Then I heard her wail  The rest is history!

Does she live too far away for you to pick it up?

That breaks my heart. :'(  I have a new little fur man that got dumped in the office parking lot a couple of weeks ago.  My other cats are just starting to "tolerate" him...it takes a little while.  Try again to convince her to put it in the bathroom until she can either find it a home or introduce it slowly into her home.

So....what did your sister decide to do? Hopefully she at least gave it more food....and took it to a no a humane society (though most always say they have no room)....please let us know...

AS mdvegan said: does she live too far for you to pick it up (if you could)? What state is she in? I'm sure we here at vegweb could help.....

OMG!  Just hearing you tell about it brings tears to my eyes, "meowing so much that it voice is hoarse".  I could NOT ignore that.  The poor baby, just wants to be loved, wants somebody to help it.  After it, it's just a baby.  I am a sucker when it comes to kittens, I am not sure why, but I am extremely empathic with cats.  If I had a kitten wailing at my door, I would gain a third cat...not caring what the b/f thinks.  But I am gung ho about cats, love em, and tend to be extremely empathic towards them.

Just thinking about the baby being hungry, shivering in the cold, wanting only to be loved and held, wanting a mama, all alone in a cold mean world feeling like the world turned it's back on it... :'(

It it was here I would pick it up and hold it and say "it's okay baby, moma's got you, I won't let anything bad happen"...okay, I am crying now, poor baby.

i don't know what she decided to do, and she is too far away for me to pick it up. i haven't talked to her yet today. but i'm betting she left it outside, which really makes me mad. i kept telling her to put it in the bathroom with food and water but she kept saying "yeah but lucy (her other cat) is gonna go in the bathroom sometime after i take it to a shelter and i don't know if shes sick" and i said "THEN CLEAN IT" how hard of a concept is it to clean the room if shes so worried about it being sick???? seriously????

:'( I can't walk by strays - especially kittens - without taking them home. It's how I got a lot of my pets in high school. I hope the little guy is OK, and finds a home somewhere.

I have two kittens that have been living in my bathroom all week.  Tomorrow is the day, if no one takes them they have to go to a shelter.

What cute kittens!!!  The bottom one looks just like a barn cat we used to have.  If I was closer to you I'd take them in a heart beat.

Sorry Sariea for dishing on your sister, but this really pisses me off!  Her boyfriend wouldn't like it??   Tell your sister to grow some ovaries!  Sounds like her boyfriend is an uncaring jerk.  If he can turn off empathy for a starving, helpless baby animal- what kind of empathy and concern would he show for her feelings when she really needs it?  Keep the kitten who'll love her for life and throw the boyfriend out!!  Your sister's being weak and not following her conscience over a guy who sounds like he's probably not worth it.  What's she gonna give up next for him?

And good for you I'm Hungry!!

well, it was more than just the boyfriend. trust me, hes pretty immature and insensitive. hes not a jerk at all but i mean... he's 22. he might be an "adult" but hes a child.

my sister has worked in a vet office (seriously...) and she was worried the kitten had feline leukemia and would give to Lucy, her other cat. i can understand that... its just still sad

Tell your sister to grow some ovaries!

Sorry - this is off topic. But, that's the best line I have ever heard! I'm going to totally use it in the future now. Next time I give someone (female) advice on something they're afraid to do, I'll tell them to grow some ovaries. Love it!

We had the same problem when we brought our new kitten home a week ago.  It took almost 4 days but they since gotten used to each other and now play together.  Even giving each other eskimo kisses.

That's great news!  Guess I should take back my comments earlier.  ;)  Here's hoping they get her to the vet's soon and she tests out just fine.    :)

Oh this is great news!  I have this warm fuzzy feeling all over...oh wait, that is Sidra...ahhh she is purring at me again, why does she keep doing that...OMG, how can a kitten have such large brown eyes, can they be any cuter?

Kittens are the most wonderful things in the whole wide world (well, to me), they make people so happy.  Your sister will be very happy.  I absolutely ADORE my kitten that I adopted two months ago.  I missed my Shango terribly, still do, but Sidra helps to ease some of the grief that I still feel for my dearly departed Shango.  She is so wonderful...all kittens are wonderful beautiful babies...no matter how much they claw the couch and curtains!
