Loud Sparrow Help

There's a sparrow that lives in our yard who chirps loudly, and constantly, all day long.  From sun up to sun down.  I feel so bad for him!  Is he sick?  Is he lost?  Can I help him in any way?

(This is week two of his chirpping.  He sits in the same spot every day....)  I put bird seed and goodies in the spot...but he didn't eat them.

Honey what you have there is a male staking his territory in your yard. It's summer, the mating season. He sounds like a late bloomer, if you're sure there are no nests in the area. He's saying, "This is MY patch! I am a viable male! Stay OUT!--unless you're a pretty hen sparrow!!"

One time a squirrel was chirping by us to. I asked someone about it what it meant. He said that a predator was near and he was warning the other squirrels. I don't know if that's true.

Lol, thanks for the help guys.  I was just concerned the bird was lost or who knows what.  I don't think it's about a predator...because he does it ALLL day.  And frankly, the bird lives in suberbia where the only predators are overweight cats.  Maybe it's the territory thing.  Lol, "RARR I'm a manly sparrow and you others get away from MY space!"

um...not really, but, as i alluded to in a prior post, i had been accustomed to having sharp instruments drug across my wrist  ;)
but, the top of it's head  hurt a bit, because it was right on top of the veiny area, other than that, not bad at all...

OK, I am a squirrel lover.  Yes, they send out a chirp when scared or in distress.  If a cat chases them or a dog, they will climb the wall or a tree and do these little chirp screams.  Whenever I hear that noise, I run outside to see what is distressing my neighbourhood squirrels.

You should have heard the scream when Isabela my beautiful dog caught the tip of the tail of Boo.  Boo ran.  I still have the tip off her tail!

Boo forgave me and still came around for hand outs for a very long time!

Um...why a dead sparrow??  I mean, whatever blows your hair back, but a dead animal--rather a strange choice for a veg*n, surely??

--because:
most people consider sparrows ugly, dirty, not "neat" birds...
and to that:
"His eye is on the sparrow--so i know He watches over me"
--so, if His eye is on the sparrow--a "dirty, uncared for" bird, and a dead one at that,
i know that at my deepest points of despair where i'm hanging on by a thread, His eye is on me, no matter how "ugly" i am/feel
:)

OK, that's cool. I can relate. I  have done some "ugly-feeling" in my time, and still do. It does say that not a sparrow falls to the ground but He knows about it.

glad that you are familiar with it!

Cheap Birds
Parody of "Free Bird" by Lynyrd Skynyrd
(Matt. 6:26-34, 10:29-31; Luke 12:6-7, 24-32)

You do not need to fear tomorrow
Would you still remember please
That God must keep track of sparrows
And there's so many ravens God’s got to feed
But if God takes care of bluebirds
He'll bless you and me the same
Cause I'm not cheap like a bird now
And I'm born for better things
And I'm worth more than odd change
And I'm worth more than I think
The Lord knows everything
I find faith from listenin' to Jesus -- yeah, yeah
When nervous feelings I can't shake
So please don't take this for granted
Cause the Lord knows all your needs
But this Bible states here in Luke 12
He'll get food for me today
Cause I'm not cheap like a bird now
And I'm born for better things
And I'm worth more than odd change
And I'm worth more than I think
The Lord knows everything
The Lord helps me -- find the way
Oh, night and day
The Lord provides -- for cheap birds, yeah

If you haven't downloaded and listened to the song, it's still an awesome rock song with kick-ass guitar work.  They do a fantastic job of sounding like the original song only changing the words to better ones in a lot of cases.  The lead vocalist has an uncannyy abilitiy to sound like everyone from Ronnie Van Zandt to Michael Jackson, Toby Keith, Freddie Mercury just to name a few!  I love that parody band!
