a dog in a car next to a house
i got home at 9pm and immediately noticed a whiny barking dog. i assumed it was my neighbors. but the barking persisted until now (it's ten after midnight) and it's still going on, and soon after nine i noticed a few other interesting noises... i go outside to check it out, and jeeze, there is a young dog in a car parked right under my window. i soon realize that the other interesting noises are the dog practically throwing itself against the doors and windows, causing the car to rock back and forth. i have no idea how long the poor thing has been there. one window is cracked just a little, and thankfully it's at least 50 degrees outside. i called the police department and gave them the location and description of the vehicle, and an officer will be stopping by after a while... ugh. i feel aweful.
that is so terrible! do you know who the car belongs to? that poor doggy :'(!

oh it was aweful. when the police finally did come they just looked in the car and left. i mean, not that there's really anything they could do. that was around 1am. i tried to contact the SPCA to see what i should do, the SPCA here just runs a shelter, it's not like in other places where they can actually come out and see if an animal needs help. and the recording there said call animal control, and the animal control line just kept ringing. i eventually fell asleep, but was periodically woken up by the dog outside, until 4 at least. when i woke up at 11 the car was gone. i feel like i should have at least left a note. so now i'm bummed. little dog is still with it's stupid owner. possibly getting "punished" for wrecking the car (the roof was all clawed up and there was fabric hanging down and stuff). grrr >:(
