Seitan was one of the first foods that I seriously loved as a vegan. What other meat analogue is as savory, chewy, and, well, meaty? Seitan is the perfect addition to most any dish (except for a chocolate cake but you know) and is surprisingly easy to make. If you're nervous about experimenting with it, don't be. We have a million variations on VegWeb. I've listed a few of my favorites below but definitely check out our entire seitan section and get going!
But first, my favorite recipes:
- Seitan Cooking School
- The Fluffiest, Juiciest Seitan Steaks Ever
- Sesame UnChicken Fingers with Spicy Mustard Dip
- Seitan 'n' Mustard, Swiss Chard Wrap
- Kale and Seitan
- Sweet & Sour Seitan
- Barbequed Seitan
Now, let's get this party started! Before you know it, you'll be whipping up vegan pot roasts and "chicken" nuggets that will blow even the most skeptical meat mouth out of the water. And if not? More for you! It's win/win!
